  One of the best run credit unions I have been a part of in the west. The staff has been quite friendly every time I have been there save for only one blonde lady that was quite arrogant.

  They charge $12-$30 for phone or online payments. Won't allow loan payoff unless you go to a branch or mail a check that will come up short due to daily interest rate being compounded. If you don't live near a branch you're basically screwed if you want to give them money you owe them. What kind of a bank makes it difficult to give them money? Seriously?! I did drive a couple hours to go to a branch and all the people were very friendly and baffled when I explained my situation.

  I love, Love, LOVE HAPO. I've been with them for the last 20 years and have never once had a problem with them. The staff has always been super polite, friendly, and respectful, they DON'T charge a fee to have checking and savings accounts through them, and I've never seen a "sneaky" fee or a fee I thought was suspicious in any way. In fact, they've charged me NOTHING to have accounts with them, as opposed to other banks that charge outrageous fees for silly things (sorry, but no, I'm not going to pay to access my own money, or because I don't have "enough" in my account to avoid a penalty). In my experience, they make banking convenient, efficient, and stress-free. A+++ for HAPO.

  So, I have been shopping for a new car for the last year, I knew my credit was not the best from the git-go, but did my homework and compiled my own selling point for financing. I went to one dealership when I was ready. Unfortunately, they did submit my credit app to like 10 places and ALL declined except for HAPO! They approved me and am so grateful. The interest rate is not the best in the world, but with my credit rating, I am VERY happy. My payments are still low and there customer service is absolutely refreshing! THANKS HAPO, CUSTOMER FOR LIFE........... EASTERN, OREGON
